

Normobaric
Companies like Hypoxico, Loxy, Mile High Training, etc., use Normobaric hypoxia = normal sea level pressure, but breathing low oxygen gas = fake altitude. No pressure changes, no temperature changes, no ascent or descent changes. Not shown to be performance enhancing in athletes in a placebo-controlled study. There may be some benefits depending on exposure profiles, but not consistent nor the magnitude of performance enhancement as true altitude training.

Hyperbaric

Oxygen therapy (HBOT) i.e. 100% oxygen is administered in a mono place or multi-place chamber fitted with oxygen delivery system and monitoring equipment at an elevated ambient pressure (Going down, diving), 1.5 to 2 or greater times the atmospheric pressure at sea level [2–3 ATA] taking you below where you are currently and pressurizing oxygen into your lungs and distributing it around the body… has benefits for “oxygenating” the tissues but may have a benefit “ceiling”…that happens within several sessions.
Hypobaric
